Metroid: Zero Mission: Metroid: Operation Execution Gameboy Advance

Metroid: Operation Execution is yet another hack from Roebloz, this time tackling the challenge of making a good Metroid Zero Mission ROM Hack.

It follows the story of Samus (Yet again) going to investigate and shut down the Space Pirate operations on Planet Triea 31 shortly after the events of Metroid Zero Mission, and avoid the Space Pirate elite known as the Executer. (The story is explained more in-detail inside the README file.)

The hack redesigns the whole map and alters the enemies a bit, making it a brand new adventure. The graphics have remained mostly the same, with some additions for areas such as Kraid's Lair featuring graphics ported over from Super Metroid, and the Spikes from said game having been ported over as well. There isn't any ASM work either, so this is a nice vanilla hack for those who prefer simple hacks.

Got boredom to kill? Then get your Charge Beam ready, and get ready for your new mission; Execute...Or be executed.

DIFFICULTY: Journalist Friendly/Challenging/VERY Challenging (Depending on which difficulty you choose in-game, of course.)

(Hotfix Update: Fixed game-breaking bug, please re-download.)

Thanks for choosing to play METROID: OPERATION EXECUTION!
Here is your "manual".

THE VERY CHEESY STORY
It has been a little while after Metroid: Zero Mission and the Galactic Federation is trying to track down where
the dastardly pirates have fled to following their defeat at your hands. Soon enough, the research team that
had been sent to Zebes following the defeat of the Space Pirates sent a distress signal, as the single remaining Zebesian Space Pirate on the planet made its way to the ship the research team had came to Zebes with (The
SS OriginalName), killed everyone onboard and then proceeded to leave with the bodies of Kraid and Ridley using the ship, stranding those that were lucky enough to be mining at that moment. A couple massacres by this lone
Space Pirate warrior later, and he had received the nickname of...The Executer.
While this was concerning, at around the same time a Space Pirate communication was intercepted which revealed
that a Space Pirate base was located on planet Triea 31, and that they were almost ready to use the bio-weapons being engineered there. A second message managed to be intercepted, confirming Kraid and Ridley had
regained consciousness.
Knowing they didn't have much time, the Federation gave you a new mission: Get to Triea 31, terminate the
bio-weapons project and execute the Space Pirate leaders once and for all.
Lock and load, rip and tear.

DIFFICULTIES
All the precisions on what to expect from the difficulties.

GAME JOURNALIST - Allows you to get some insight on how Game Journalists rate games.
BOUNTY HUNTER - Your standard mode. Recommended.
NIGHTMARE! - The unfair mode of the game. If you die, don't blame me. Most enemies are replaced by their
strongest variant, Tanks are halved, you take double damage, etc. The usual hard mode stuff but even harder.

THE AREAS

An explorer always brings info on where they are going.
(NOTE: THIS DOES CONTAIN SPOILERS ON THE BOSSES AND WHERE YOU WILL GET CERTAIN ITEMS. DO NOT
READ IF YOU DONT WANT TO KNOW THIS!)

Triea 31 (Surface) - The surface of Triea 31. You parked your ship there, but you decided to explore a bit and
as such, you don't start here. This area is pretty small, as part of it is covered by the Space Pirate Outpost.
It connects to Losithia, the Zenithor Depths and the Chozo Temple.

ITEMS: Missile Tank (1st in the game), Space Jump
BOSSES: None...(?)

Losithia - This is your obligatory Brinstar ripoff, but purple and green. You start in this area. It mainly consists of
hallways filled with Skrees, Zoomers, Rippers (Aka Croissants) and the very tasty buttery Wavers. You will find
quite a bit of weak lava, but if you look hard enough you will find some water as well. Connects to Triea 31 (Surface), the Zenithor Depths (1-way, from Zenithor) and the goal of your adventure, the Vertexia Labs.

ITEMS: Power Grip, Morph Ball, Long Beam, Charge Beam
BOSSES: Deorem (Charge Beam dood)

Kraid's Lair - The Chozo were on this planet as well, but it looks like their greenest temple ever has been modified
turned into the main base of operations for the resurrected Kraid. This temple is very green and filled to the brim
with dangerous spikes and not-so-dangerous weak lava. You will occasionally find more traditional bronze Chozo temple rooms that have been flooded since their construction, as well as baby pink and baby blue areas once you
get close to the pirate leader. To get through this maze, you will need to find the ancient Chozo laboratory to
activate the ziplines. Just be careful...Kraid and the super-sonic Rios may not be the only threat here...
It only connects back to Losithia.

ITEMS: Hi-Jump Boots, Zipline Activator, Varia Suit, Power Bomb Tank (1st in the game)
BOSSES: Mua (Acid Worm), Kraid

Zenithor Depths - The only light in this cave is the one coming from the lava that flows throughout it. The
Zenithor Depths are extremely warm, and going there without the Varia Suit would be suicide. It is basically split
in two. The north-eastern portion of the map is pretty warm, but the south-eastern portion is rather cool and will allow you to survive without the Varia Suit (Getting there without it is another story.) As for the western part,
literally all of it is heated. Interestingly however, tropical plants managed to grow in the south-western part as it
is not heated. As for the enemies, well...They might seem to be the same one as on Zebes, but they seem to have
evolved and/or mutated, as they can both take and deal bigger punishment than before. Enjoy your
Christmas-colored Sovas!
The Zenithor Depths connect to Triea 31 (Surface), Losithia (One-Way, towards it) and Ridley's Lair.

ITEMS: Wave Beam, Speed Booster, Super Missile Tank (1st in the game)
BOSSES: Kiru Giru, Ensnared Kiru Giru

Chozo Temple - The Chozo really like building temples, huh. You will not have much to do here. Just get through
the enemies, and take the zipline towards the elevator that leads to the most dangerous place here, Ridley's Lair.
Oh and, don't forget to take the Plasma Beam. Too bad your suit OS got corrupted, forcing you to revert to
PowerSuit v1.13...Eh, you probably won't need it for now. Accessed from the Outpost on the Surface, and leads
to Ridley's Lair.

ITEMS: Plasma Beam
BOSSES: None

Ridley's Lair - That dragon is back, stronger than ever...Let's hope this doesn't become a tradition. Unlike Kraid's
Lair, this place was built specifically for Ridley by the Space Pirates once they made their way here. Most of this
dangerous stronghold is built out of the dark rock from the Zenithor Depths, albeit sculpted to look nicer.
This area is one hellish nightmare, and filled to the brim with actually dangerous lava and/or acid. While the enemy
roster is similar to its previous iteration, they have all been genetically modified allowing for faster breeding (And
thus faster room-filling capabilities) and to be far more durable...Good luck Samus.

ITEMS: Gravity Suit, Screw Attack
BOSSES: MicroSuit Representative, Ridley

Vertexia Labs - Once you actually defeat both Ridley and Kraid, the door will be opened to the labs. Why?
I dunno. This new Tourian was built specifically for bio-weapon engineering, and as such it will be the most
dangerous part of your playthrough. Geegas have been modified to be tough enough to resist the Plasma Beam
AND live in the chlorydric acid present throughout the whole base, Atomics are just here to kill you with their
electricity magicks, and the Rinkas are there because they're there. And yes, the Metroids are back. Thanks
to extensive exposure to Beta-Rays and other radioactive chemicals, the Metroids here are tough enough to
survive 15 missiles or 3 super missiles after being frozen, and can drain all your energy in a matter of seconds.
Oh, and one pirate decided to see what would happen if they made a clone out of Metroid and Imago DNA...Yeah,
their main experimentation room got a little bit damaged from that experiment.
Just...Find the Ice Beam, kill the Metroids, and destroy the Pirates' ultimate weapon before they can use
it.

ITEMS: Ice Beam
BOSSES: Imagoid, Mutated Metroid Larvae, [REDACTED], Golden Mecha Ridley, Brain Unit

SUB-AREAS

Space Pirate Outpost - The Space Pirates built a pretty large tower inside the planet as their main base of
operations (Aside from Vertexia Labs). Once they learned you were coming however, they quickly left the planet
to avoid being killed and as such, you will only find regular enemies in here. It goes through Kraid and the Surface.

[REDACTED] Command Center - You'll find it. I'm sure.

ENDING WORDS
Well, that concludes it. Have fun!
