Tales of Phantasia: Tales of Phantasia European Font Enhancement

The European release of Tales of Phantasia was surprising, they actually took the time to clarify the voice acting, clean up some of the menus, restore the brighter graphics from the Japanese version, and a few other minor things. It seemed perfect but there's always a catch, the menu font was a hideous all caps 5x8 monstrosity. The patch eliminates that wretched thing and even cleans up some of the games larger fonts.

Please note: This patch only works with the European release of Tales of Phantasia, do not try to apply it to the US release.

This is a patch that replaces Tales of Phantasia's horrible menu font with a much nicer one,
inspired by the fonts used in the Japanese and US releases. In addition to the menu font,
also touches up the dialog font and language select screen. The only thing missing from this
patch is the large font used during battle, I've been unable to locate this.

Q. "Why did you make this patch?"

A. Kajitani-Eizan kept bugging me to finish it. In all honesty I don't even like the game
all that much.


Q. "Is there any reason to play this over the US release?"

A. Yes, the menus have been cleaned up a bit, the voice acting is much clearer, you can play
it in multiple languages, and the graphics are brighter, if you prefer that.


Q. "Is Kajitani-Eizan's text patch included?"

Bugs

Although it's not technically a bug, the large battle font has not been changed, because
I could no locate this font. If you happen to find it, send me the offsets and I'll release
version 1.0 of this patch.
