-STORY-

Once again, Bowser comes to attack Mushroom Kingdom. Mario comes in time where they have a fierce fight! Bowser escapes and Mario gives chase... Bowser gets to Star Valley and blasts himself through the space cannon to planet Stardust. Mario follows him to planet Stardust.

About planet Stardust:

Planet Stardust is the source of power stars across the universe, in which all power stars are under the control of the most powerful power star of all, the Master Star. The Master Star is in its altar in Stardust Field in which planet Stardust's power stars rotate around it. Planet Stardust has many Star Temples... Star Temples are temples that are powered by the Master Star from its altar in Stardust Fields to produce power stars and spread them across the infinite universe (you will see three Star Temples in the game).

As Mario arrives to planet Stardust to Stardust Fields, he finds out that Bowser stole the Master Star... Stealing the Master Star caused planet Stardust's power stars to spread around planet Stardust. Some doors have been sealed with power star power by Bowser, so it is up to Mario to gather power stars and save the day. Bowser actually held the Master Star in his newly built base, the Space Fortress... Mario faces Bowser two times and Bowser was weakened and couldn't face Mario, but his scheme was still in motion since the Master Star is still in the Space Fortress which is still inaccessable to Mario. Bowser's troops carry on his evil scheme and start out by using the Master Star to absorb power star energy from the Star Temples across planet Stardust to spread the power to all Bowser's troops! The Space Fortress was very well guarded and so was the Master Star. The planet was still in deep trouble! Mario must keep on gathering power stars until he can access the Space Fortress through the Space Cannon in Stardust Plains which was sealed with power star power!
