Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Nintendo Wii

After years of fan conjecture about “who is the best,” Mario and Sonic finally meet to see who is the best!

Set in the Beijing Olympics 2008, Mario, Luigi, Peach, and their friends compete in several Olympic events against Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and their crew. Players can even incorporate their personalized Miis from their Wii system among the participants. Each character has unique qualities that offer a slight advantage over others in certain situations. Sonic, for example, is frequently faster than other characters. However, he can be defeated with any weapon.

The gameplay is similar to Wii Sports in that there are various arcade-style mini-games in which players can compete against up to three buddies. Skeet shooting, fencing, 100m and 400m dashes, swimming, gymnastics, rowing, archery, table tennis, and many more events are unlocked through play as the video athletes collect medals, badges, and crowns. At the Olympic Games, Mario and Sonic use the Wii Remote (and Nunchuk for select events) to approximately simulate the various physical motions of the games.

Players can share their best records and times online over Wi-Fi to see how they compare to other players.
